Which of the following best describes your interest in Moorland Road?
I'm a trader
Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a ladies hairdresser and I have had a salon in Moorland road for 33 years, the salon is now called Nicholas Paul hair studio as a few years ago I gave the Salon to my son but I continue to work with him for 4 days a week with my wife Carol. I started the association in 1991 with David Greenwood manager of Nat West bank, Barrie Remblance manager of Threshers, Brian Auger proprieter of North west London meat co and Wendy Farr manageress of Barnardos,I became Chairman in 1994 and stepped down in January 2008. But it was back in 1988 that I got Moorland road on the Floral map with the help of our councils Parks dept, They had noticed the window boxes and baskets at my Salon and thought I might be the man to go around knocking on doors to ask traders if they would get floral themselves, The offer was free baskets for the first year, yes FREE, it was an offer that many traders thought too good to be true and we only had orders for 15 or so baskets----to be continued

Memorial gardens

I had an anonymous letter this morning , the content was basicaly asking me if I would get something done about the drunks and yobs who make life a misery for everyone who uses the Memorial gardens, the letter goes on to say that if something wasn't done they would " go to the Chronicle and paint a very different picture of Moorland road, one that the Moorland road traders would not like printed" Being the sensitive soul that I am! I wasvery upset as I have for months now been liasing with our t… Continue

Thanks

I would like to thank everyone who contributed towards the wonderful leaving present I received at the AGM, It realy took my breath away and left me feeling a little sad and emotional as I realised that it realy was the end of 13 very happy years as Chairman of our Traders Association, I will always treasure the lovely blue glass, thank you all very, very much. Barry.

HI I was on stonebridge, a bit out of town but quiet. I enjoyed my life in Frome and was involved in some projects and clubs along the way, hope to do same here in Bath.

This is really sad news. Why was the Festical cancelled?
Also, I saw this on the agenda for the MRA: 'Resignation of Officers - Future of MRA'. Can you tell me what this means? Thanks, Rob.

Do you agree that the Mcolls shop in our road with its Booze Buster sign makes the road look cheap and tacky, If you do, please make a noise. Contact will or Shaun and email the Chron, Barry

hello,
Moorland road has many times been the pride of Bath and it is to your credit that it has. We must get rid of the advertising on the side and corner of the old Smile store that looks unbelievably tacky and, more importantly advertises alcohol as if it is not a problem in today's UK. Where were the brains when they decided to plaster Booze Busters all over the building?
It is a nationwide issue ( which makes it even more senseless! ) and we have about four of them in Bath.
See them out of town !
