Moorland Road Association

A social network for traders, customers and residents of Moorland Road in Bath

I It has recently come to my attention that First are planning to scrap the 20a and 20c bus, which pass Moorland road. I live in Combe Down and the 20 route, although only once an hour, is a real lifeline for me. I use about 10 of the shops, and organize myself to do all the shopping I can on Moorland rd. I know it is used by many people who live on the outer edge of Bath. I have started to tell as many students as possible, They also need it, as do the younger kids going to school.
I was wondering if the MRA would be trying to raise a petition to try and keep the service, as it brings shoppers to you, who otherwise could not visit.

Hi Kay, thankyou for taking the time to reply. Yes I feel it is very bad news for the many small shopkeepers. People just don't seem to realise how quickly a combination of "small" things can escalate and add up to something devastating. I feel the loss of this bus route is another example of the seemingly endless erosion of local amenities. If you do have any ideas please don't hesitate to let me know.
